Privacy Policy
RunBoyRun is built for runners. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how it stays yours.
1. What We Collect
We collect only what's needed to make the app work:
- Run data — distance, duration, pace, and GPS route coordinates recorded during a run. Run history is stored on-device only and never synced to our servers.
- HealthKit — with your permission, we read step counts and workout data to supplement your run stats. We never write to HealthKit without your explicit action.
- Location — GPS is used during an active run to trace your route. Background location updates are used while a run is in progress so tracking continues if your screen locks. We do not access location when no run is active and do not store raw coordinates on our servers.
2. How We Use Your Data
- To display your run history and stats in the app.
- To verify challenge completion conditions (distance, time, weather, moon phase).
- To send local push notifications for scheduled challenges (processed entirely on-device).
- We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell it to any third party.
3. Third-Party Services
We use Apple WeatherKit to fetch current weather conditions for your location. When the app checks weather, your approximate location is sent to Apple's servers to retrieve local conditions. This is governed by Apple's privacy policy. No weather data is stored on our servers.
We do not use any advertising SDKs, analytics services, or third-party trackers.
4. Data Storage
All run data is stored entirely on-device and never leaves your phone. If you delete the app, that data is gone.
5. Your Rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing runboyrunapp@proton.me. We will respond within 30 days.
6. Children
RunBoyRun is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, notify you via the app. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
